This Les Puces French Hybrid course is based around the bilingual story 'Arty on the Farm. You will receive a postal pack containing a Les Puces A4 workbook (Arty on the Farm Workbook) packed with a bilingual story, set of 10 worksheets, a great game, a lesson plan, 2 vocabulary sheets, a lyrics sheet and a progress page and stickers. It also includes: the countryside code and extra subjects to take your learning deeper. In your pack there is also a practical project kit to make a fantastic 3D pop up farm scene complet with Arty and his sculpture!
As soon as you purchase this module you will quickly receive log-in details to access the Les Puces Club area on our website with full access for 2 years to the 'Arty on the Farm' online learning portal.
In this module you will learn all about the farm with Arty the art loving cat. The names of basic farm animals (such as the cow, the sheep, the pig etc) and the baby animals (piglet, lamb, duckling etc.) You will learn phrases such as 'I like...', 'I don't like...' 'He/she likes...' We also discover what noises farm animals make like Mooo and Baaaa (but in French and yes they all sound a bit different!). Also there is also the opitunity to discuss art and art projects (and what counts as art!) The 10 worksheets progress from colouring cows to learning French farmyard animal noises! See what Arty can spot with his telescope and find out what Arty likes and doesn't like! The game for this module is 'The end of the day'; Arty and the farmer race to feed the animals and shut all the gates for the night. The song is 'In the fields' and comes with actions to learn, sing-along lyrics and a karaoke version. You learn lots of useful vocabulary with 2 sheets covering simple and advanced words from the story.
The portal contains 24 teaching and instructional videos in six sections to guide you through the course; listen to the story in French and English as you follow in your workbook; learn the key vocabulary and copy the pronunciation; copy the song actions and lyrics and then try the sing-along and karaoke; complete the 10 worksheets, which includes a fun game; lastly, complete the practical project. The project is a great reminder of all the lessons learned. There are also 2 vocabulary sheets, a lyrics sheet and all the worksheets included in your workbook available to download from the portal. Lastly there is a handy lesson plan, the country code and a sheet of advanced subjects to discuss.
The course is designed to last a minimum of 7 x 1 hour sessions (although we recommend you do a little each day at your own pace) and is ideal for ages 3-11 years with parental support where necessary.
